KAT MENSCHIK & die blaue Olga

You probably know me as an illustrator of fine books.
ow I am fulfilling a dream by presenting my pictures in a new format: my limited jewelry edition »die blaue Olga« (the blue Olga).
Each piece is completely crafted by hand: first comes the drawing, then the manufacture of the porcelain picture, and finally I insert this tiny work of art into the numbered silver fitting.

»die blaue Olga« will become your new friend, sharing your confidence and beauty!

Have fun exploring the collection,
Kat Menschik

The edition consists of different "blaue Olgas".

On the one hand there are the now legendary medallions.
They are favourite motifs from the artist's œuvre in blue on porcelain, each limited to 25 exclusive copies. This strict limitation makes every "blaue Olga" a desired collector's item. On the back the respective number is clearly visibly stamped into the 925 silver socket.

We are now introducing the premier class of every jewellery collection, our "blaue Olga ring”. Various motifs are also offered here from which you can choose.
Every desired motif is branded for you personally by the artist.

You will receive the "blaue Olga" in a cardboard jewellery box, embellished with a hand-made screen print and a ribbon around it.

Made with love in Berlin and Brandenburg.

There is nothing left to be desired!

Here you can have a look at my first special order for a customer who wanted the portrait of his wife as a motive for "die blaue Olga".

Maria Francis

The most beautiful Christmas gift to myself and I love it.

3sat Kulturzeit

Girls, monsters and mythical creatures: the fabric from which fairy tales are woven. In striking blue and red Kat Menschik draws »The Doll in the Grass« – designed with love.

Barbara Weidle, publisher

»die blaue Olga« (pilot) is my constant companion. On a long or a short chain, depending on the outfit. A beautiful flatterer and a real eye-catcher. It magically attracts amusing conversations. A strong woman for a strong woman.

MADAME

With her drawings full of delicacy and grim humour, Kat Menschik transports the reader into a mysterious world. Magic!

Anna Korehnke, Freundin

The farmer likes the "Hollyhocks" very enchanting on his farmer's wife!

emotion

This cook book is so cheerful that a good mood/meal is guaranteed.

Nina Dähn

Something very special has happened: for the first time in 22 years, my husband was able to keep his present a secret. So sure was he that he would please me. I think that's too beautiful, and it goes with the Blue Olga. I have never seen anything that is so lovingly thought out, manufactured and packaged.

Christiane Preuße-Hülpüsch

I think it's sooo romantic! (Hollyhocks)

Claudius Seidl, Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung

People used to believe that medallions and amulets would have a magical effect if only the right substances were stored in them and the right pictures were shown on them. Today we live in magical times. And still hope that whoever wears such a medallion will become more beautiful, smarter, better. And of course funnier. So they are objects of enchantment.

When does she sleep?

FAZ

A masterpiece.

Usually it's a matter of looking into the cleavage. But if the eyes of other women in particular sink into it and then tell me things like: »oh how pretty!«, »an eye-catcher« or even »magical«, it is because of my »blaue Olga«, who rests in it - and I find it wonderful.

Ulf Poschardt, Literarische Welt

The depths of the embossing, the flickering of the colours, the brightness of the print, the beauty of the details. Galiani Publishers belong to the quiet virtuosos of book producing and calling the illustrator Kat Menschik (...) a virtuoso even falls short of the truth. Together they have edited a beautiful delicate little volume (...). Highly recommended.

The ducks have a beautiful meaning beyond the fairy tale: They should, for example, also stand for "emotional balance" and "trust in the community". You can "see the big picture". I liked that so much.

Denis Scheck, Druckfrisch von der Leipziger Buchmesse

The blue Olga is beautiful and brings good luck. My absolute favorite jewelry!

Isabel Bogdan, writer

Today is January 14th. I got my »blaue Olga« on January 6th and have been wearing it ever since. I already know that I will enter it in the clothing item »Questionnaire of the Year«. And under »Gift of the Year«.

Carmen Winter, writer

My grandmothers were simple country women. War and flood made it impossible for them to leave me an amulet. Their inheritance is in my genes. The love for hollyhocks is registered there.

Kerstin Schmutzler (eine Kundin, der wir ihren Wunsch erfüllen konnten)

Would it be possible to buy the number 3 "Heart" (Herz)? It would remind me of my parents. For me, the 3 would always mean: The 3 of us.

Knut Elstermann, radioeins

Extravagant, full of imagination, with an unbelievable number of pictures, every page is its own work of art.

Tanya Lieske, Deutschlandfunk

Kat Menschik has so impeccably illustrated the delirium of the texts with her pictures that the viewer already feels pleasantly creepy. And Edgar Allan Poe’s writing offers the reader a glimpse into the abysses of the psyche that Sigmund Freud would only describe half a century later.

Welt am Sonntag

It is always the same with books illustrated by Kat Menschik: overwhelmed by her style, momentum and colours you often forget that you also wanted to read.

There are many cook books, but this here is guaranteed the most colourful and one of the funniest.

Florentine Anders, ZEIT ONLINE

Actually I don’t wear jewelry at all. At least it was like that until the blue Olga came to me, packed as a gift. At first I only took her from time to time, now I hang on her and she on me, she is my constant companion, sometimes puzzling, sometimes talkative, never inappropriate and always beautiful. Much more than just a piece of jewelry.
